VIEWAPP: Do Private Individuals Need Digital Inspections?

People have long been used to solving everyday tasks online. Finding an apartment, agreeing on rental terms, transferring money — all of this already happens in the digital environment. But at the moment when it is necessary to record the condition of an apartment and the agreements between the owner and the tenant, the process often remains fragmented: several photos on a phone, a chat in a messenger, and a separate file or even a paper handover act, stored differently by each party.
A handover inspection report for a rental apartment is not a formality but a practical tool for documenting the condition of a property. In practice, most parties do take photos and try to record important details, but they do so without a unified structure or common standard. Photos remain in personal galleries, some details are lost, and the inspection report exists separately from the visual materials. As a result, the owner and the tenant do not have a single, synchronized document that looks the same, is stored the same way, and is interpreted equally by both parties — and that can also be used for other purposes, for example, in insurance.
It is far more convenient when a specialized digital tool with a predefined inspection scenario is used for this purpose. Such a tool guides users through the areas that need to be recorded, allows them to add photos step by step, note the condition of furniture, appliances, and rooms, and avoid missing important details. All information is collected into a single digital inspection report linked to a specific date and property. Both parties see the same document, sign it digitally, and can return to it at any time without searching through files, chats, or scattered photos.
This approach saves time, reduces the number of disputes, and eliminates the feeling of “paperwork for the sake of paperwork.” The inspection becomes a clear and structured process, and the report becomes a working document that truly reflects the condition of the apartment at the time of handover. For private transactions, this is especially important: no experts, no complex procedures, but a clear фиксация of facts that equally protects both the owner and the tenant.
At VIEWAPP, we see this shift and are therefore building a unified digital platform with two storefronts: one for businesses and one for private users. The approach to data reliability is the same, but the usage scenarios differ. For both B2B and B2C segments, we focus on self-service — a person creates an inspection exactly when it is needed and convenient.
The first pilot scenario will be a digital handover inspection report for rental apartments. We start with one clear and understandable use case to see how people actually use the digital inspection in practice, which tasks it solves, and which opportunities are worth developing further.
This inspection will allow users to record the condition of a property at a specific moment in time: add photo and video materials, note the features of the premises, and preserve the structure and logic of the inspection. Such a report exists in digital form, is tied to a date, and becomes a point of reference for both parties to the transaction.
We expect users to come to this tool from their familiar environment — classifieds platforms, where most private rental deals begin and end. The document is created not “somewhere separately,” but at the moment when a real agreement between the parties is reached.
Digital inspections are undoubtedly needed by private individuals. They reduce tension between parties, simplify agreements, and create a clear foundation for long-term relationships — especially in rentals, where a property is transferred more than once and for extended periods. That is why at VIEWAPP we see B2C not as a one-off service, but as a developing ecosystem of digital inspections for everyday needs.
After launching the pilot scenario, we plan to gradually expand the service’s functionality. This includes adding
- regular inspections of rented properties,
- tracking the condition of the object over time,
- transmitting utility meter readings,
- and recording changes and events.
Such an approach helps maintain transparency throughout the entire rental period, not only at the moment of handover.
We will consistently develop digital inspections for private transactions, refining scenarios, interfaces, and service logic based on real user experience. Our goal is to make property condition recording a simple, familiar, and reliable part of everyday agreements, and for digital inspections to be perceived as a natural and essential element of modern renting.
