VIEWAPP: Inspections 2.0 — a new flexible format for digital documentation

VIEWAPP is a flagship platform for digital inspections, continuously developing its service capabilities daily for insurance companies, banks, leasing firms, classifieds platforms, and many other companies, as well as their clients. We consistently implement tools that make inspections more convenient, transparent, and reliable.
One of the key development areas has been the creation of a new flexible format—Inspections 2.0. We began working on them a long time ago: the task was to combine the discipline of regulated steps with the ability to record details at the moment they were actually noticed.
The goal of Inspections 2.0 is to give performers a choice of approach: where strictness and reproducibility are necessary, the standard scheme is used; where adaptability is important, steps for documentation can be added immediately. This way, we have preserved control and quality while making inspections dynamic and convenient for real-world practice.
What has changed
Inspections 2.0 allow placing markers directly on photos at the moment of shooting and linking them to repeatable processes. This means that in addition to the steps mandatory by the scenario, details that became noticeable on-site can be documented immediately. You can start marking right on the confirmation screen after completing a step or later—fr om the gallery by opening the desired frame. The number of markers is unlimited.
When a strict protocol is needed
When results for large groups of objects need to be comparable and similarly structured;
- If a company operates according to methodologies, standards, or contractual requirements that mandate a strict sequence of actions;
- During checks and audits wh ere it is important that inspection steps are reproducible and evaluation criteria are uniform;
- In mass, high-volume inspections where speed and a unified mandatory dataset are paramount;
- When training new employees to eliminate errors, omissions, and subjective interpretations;
- In companies where change is difficult to implement and a traditional approach to processes prevails.
Where flexibility is critical
Flexibility is indispensable where the real situation differs from the "ideal" scheme:
- Atypical damages or signs not covered in the standard scenario are discovered;
- The object is complex, composite, with a large number of elements (industrial facilities, commercial real estate, etc.);
- On-site conditions change: limited time, difficult access, interfering factors;
- A quick clarification is needed—a close-up, an additional angle, documentation of an associated object;
- It's important to record a nuance immediately upon discovery, without postponing or having to return;
- For experienced users who conduct a large number of inspections and value the ability to quickly supplement the scheme with their observations.
How to Enable Inspections 2.0
Inspections 2.0 are enabled as follows: at least one repeatable process accessible to the user is created, after which, in the step settings, the processes that should be launched when placing markers are selected.
Inspections 2.0 combine the best of both approaches: strict protocol and flexible reaction to the situation. The standardized framework ensures quality and reproducibility, while markers and their associated processes allow for detailing precisely what is important "here and now." This reduces the risk of missed details, decreases the number of repeat site visits, and makes inspections truly digital—dynamic, convenient, and accurate.
Digital inspections will become more technological and secure with each passing day, and our task is to make them as universal and effective as possible, even in the most complex and technologically saturated fields.
