On 26 September 2024, a significant event for the Spanish insurance industry took place at The Cube Innovation Centre in Madrid: ‘The AI-Powered Insurtech’. The event, organised by the Insurtech Community Hub in partnership with Blip, a global leader in the application of conversational AI, saw over 50 top leaders from Spain's largest insurance companies discuss the current challenges and prospects for the digitalisation of the industry.

The main topic of the meeting was the impact of artificial intelligence on Insurtech: what AI can offer as solutions to meet today's challenges. How AI affects the expectations of customers and consumers of insurance services. How have users' needs changed? What time and channels do they prefer to interact with companies? These questions have taken centre stage against the backdrop of the rapid shift to digital communications.

Blip presented the results of a major research report based on 311 million API-collected data points from interactions between the biggest insurance companies and their customers. The report outlined the key challenges and pain points faced by companies and suggested possible solutions for successfully integrating artificial intelligence into customer service.

Leading experts from the sector, such as

shared their vision for the future of the industry, emphasising the importance of adopting AI to adapt to changing user demands.

Participants noted that the forum was an extremely useful platform to discuss pressing issues facing insurance companies. The information gained at the event will allow participants to better understand what AI solutions can help them remain competitive in the face of dynamic changes in customer needs.

The event in Madrid confirmed that artificial intelligence is not just a trend, but an essential tool for the continued growth and successful future of the Spanish insurance industry.
